Free College

Free community college. Double maximum Pell grant to $12,000 (it's currently at $6,195 so double would be $12,390) and expand eligibility to families making up to $100,000 a year.

Cancel Student Debt

Expand public service loan forgiveness to cover "in demand" occupations. Student loans under this plan would be forgiven in 10 years. Note that we already do this but famously only 1% of student loan borrowers qualified for this. Wants to let borrowers refinance their federal student loans to lower rates, I assume this would be allowing borrowers to refinance with the federal government while keeping the benefits of federal student loans. Borrowers already have the ability to refinance loans but they have to do it through a private loan provider.
